MOBOTIX cameras are equipped with a Linux
operating system
which is very secure. In
addition, all inputs and
services which do not serve the
purpose of browser interaction
are closed. A Telnet service or
similar developer inputs are
also closed and cannot be
enabled. Therefore, if you lose
your administrator password,
there is no alternative to going
to the expense of sending the
camera to the MOBOTIX factory. A
PCB containing a new program is
inserted there, the camera is
started, and the password is
changed.
Note:
In the case of large, widely
distributed video systems, many
users often have to access the
recording data. With the MOBOTIX
concept, it is very simple to
protect the cameras via a
firewall; the user normally
requires no access to the
recording PC because this is
generally only done via the
camera. Only the MxControlCenter
client permits direct access to
the server data, where
necessary.
